OKB-106: Resolving problem that a gray empty box is displayed instead of the Onfolio Collection Explorer

This usually occurs when Onfolio is installed by an admin user on a machine, but is then activated with a non-admin user. To fix this, switch to the admin user, launch Onfolio and activate either by entering a key or selecting evaluate. After that is done, you can switch back to your regular user.

If that does not fix your problem, look in your install_log.txt file and see if it contains any error messages containing "RegAsm error: An error occurred inside the user defined Register/Unregister functions: System.Security.SecurityException: Requested registry access is not allowed." If so, try the following:

  1. Choose "Run..." from the Start menu of Windows.
  2. Type in "regedit" and press OK. This will open up the Windows registry editor.
  3. In the left side of the window, go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE key.
  4. Right click on it and choose "Permissions..." from the menu. This will open up the "Permissions for SOFTWARE" dialog.
  5. In the top half of the dialog, select the Windows user account you are logged in under.
  6. In the bottom half of the dialog, ensure that the "Full Access" and "Read" options both have the Allow box checked. If not, check them.
  7. Press OK to save your changes.

WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you could cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Onfolio strongly advises users to backup their registry before making any changes.
