Your default MAPI email client is used whenever you use email features within Onfolio. This is the same email client that is used when you use Windows Explorer features like 'Send To Mail Recipient.'
What is MAPI?
MAPI is an acronym for Messaging Application Programming Interface. This
is a set of functions originally designed by Microsoft that
are now supported by a large number of vendors. The MAPI functions are automatically
included on your computer as a part of the Windows Operating System.
MAPI permits Onfolio to send email using nearly
any email client on a computer running the Windows Operating System. You can
configure Windows with a default email client, which is your default email program.
Onfolio uses this default configuration when sending email.
Setting your default MAPI Client
From the IE Tools menu select Internet Options.
Click on the Programs tab.
Select the MAPI client you want to set as the default from the 2nd drop down menu (labeled "Email:").
Press OK to save your settings.
You will need to close all open IE windows for the settings to take
effect. Some applications may require you to restart them as well before
they recognize the change.
Yahoo! Mail users who have not already done so will have to install a
small application to register Yahoo! Mail as an available MAPI client. Until this is
done, Yahoo! Mail will not appear on the list of available MAPI clients in step (3)
above. The application download and more information is available at http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/ext/ext-09.html.
