Onfolio 2.02 Release Notes

Welcome to Onfolio 2.02. Please review these release notes for important information about this release.

System Requirements

- Browser integration requires one of the following clients:
    - Internet Explorer 6.0 or later
    - Firefox 1.0 or later

Helpful Information and Known Issues

• If you'd like to check to see if you have the .NET Framework installed or install the .NET Framework yourself, more information is available at:

• The final steps of the .NET Installation can take more than 30 seconds to complete. During this time, progress may not be displayed, but the installer is continuing and functioning normally.

What's New In Onfolio 2.02

Bug Fixes:

• Novell Netware support
Working with Onfolio collection files in a Novell Netware environment caused occasional exceptions.

• Ability to change Capture dialog to use previous selection method
Added the ability to set up the Capture dialog with the folder organization method that was used in versions of Onfolio prior to 2.01.

• Automatic column sizing in Capture dialog
In the 2.01 Capture dialog, certain views caused the column widths to size a bit smaller than they should be.

• Column sorting in Capture dialog
In the 2.01 Capture dialog, sorting of columns was not always exactly correct under certain views.

• Registry value to turn off progress dialog
A limited set of user configurations caused communication issues for progress between the Onfolio server and Onfolio Sidebar clients.  The progress dialog for the action would often hang keeping the user's operation from succeeding.

• Feed newspaper errors in non-English Windows locales
Default Windows locales that were non-English such as the Dutch locale caused "automation errors" when using the Feeds newspaper dropdown menus

• Specific IE Favorites imports failing
Added more explicit checks for empty paths associated for items within IE Favorites to keep failures from occuring.

• Limited support of Firefox 1.5 beta
Fix common problems that occurred when using Onfolio with Firefox 1.5 beta.

• Exception of the following type occurring - System.Exception: Unable to load the theme library: at Xceed.Grid.UIStyle.Adaptive.SystemTheme.SaveSystemTheme()
Upgrade the Xceed package used for certain UI functions within Onfolio to protect against this exception occurring.

• Exception of the following type occurring - System.OutOfMemoryException: Too many items in the combo box
Fix the underlying cause for this exception that seemed to affect users upgrading from 2.0 to 2.01.

What's New In Onfolio 2.01

Bug Fixes:

• Compatibility problems with Firefox 1.04 and later
Changes in Firefox 1.04, 1.05, and 1.06 could cause unexpected behavior when using Onfolio. Onfolio 2.01 addresses these issues.

• Improved framed PDF capture
PDF files that were displayed in a frame were captured as a link or as a page in Onfolio 2.0. In Onfolio 2.01, PDF files that are displayed in a frame are detected and you can capture them as the PDF or as a link to the PDF.

• Control characters in capture descriptions
In Firefox, capturing some sites would result in control characters being displayed in the capture dialog. Onfolio 2.01 remedies this.

New Features:

• Improved capture dialog
Onfolio 2.01 introduces an improved Capture dialog that makes it more straightforward to select the folder that the item should be captured into. The capture dialog has also been made resizable, making it easier to navigate large collections.

• Customizable Installer
Onfolio 2.01 includes a customizable installer that is useful for large deployments. For additional information about this feature, please contact Onfolio at info@onfolio.com.

• Academic and Scientific Edition
Onfolio 2.01 introduces the academic and scientific edition of Onfolio. The Academic and Scientific edition of Onfolio includes features that assist with academic and scientific research on the internet. General Information and Known Issues

To learn more about what is new in Onfolio, review the Getting Started Guide that automatically displays the first 2 times you launch Onfolio. It is also available from the Onfolio Program Group of your Start Menu.

• Adding Onfolio button to Internet Explorer Main Toolbar (Windows XP Only)
In Internet Explorer, open View Menu and select Toolbars->Customize... Using the list box on the left side of the dialog, find the Onfolio toolbar button and add it to the list of current toolbar buttons.

• Unexpected errors
When Onfolio encounters an unexpected error, the dialog informing you of the error includes a button that will email error information to Onfolio. The error information that is mailed to us includes only information about the program's execution state, not any information about what is stored in Onfolio or any personal information about you. Please use this anytime you see an unexpected error.

• Dealing with an unresponsive application
If Onfolio becomes unresponsive and opening and closing Onfolio doesn't fix the problem, there is an additional step that you can take to address the problem. Use the Task Manager to end a process called 'onfserv.exe.' (You can launch the task manager by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del. You can end a process by clicking the 'Processes' tab, selecting the process name from the list, and pressing the 'End Process' button.) This process works with Onfolio stored data, and if it becomes unresponsive, could cause any other Onfolio application to stop responding. Ending this process will not corrupt your data, and Onfolio will automatically start this process again when it is needed.

• Onfolio Logs
Onfolio creates log files that can be helpful for diagnosing problems that have occurred. The following logs are available in the locations:

• Using Onfolio with the .Net Framework 2.0 (codename 'Whidbey')
While Onfolio does currently support the .Net framework 2.0, the installer for Onfolio will require that the .Net Framework 1.1 be downloaded and installed. This should not interfere with any applications using the .Net framework 2.0.

• Capturing complicated web pages as local copies sometimes doesn't capture the page exactly
When certain web pages are captured as local copies of pages, they may not be saved exactly as you see them. This includes pages that have significant and complicated javascript, pages that include very complex Flash applications or movies, or pages that redirect you to other pages.

• Search terms not captured for dragged and dropped links
When you capture an item using drag and drop, any search terms that may have been used to locate the item are not captured. You can work around this by using the capture button, the F9 key, or the right click menu to capture items.

• Dragging and dropping to capture a linked image captures the link not the image
If you'd like to capture an image that is linked, you can right click on the image, selecting 'Capture Image to Onfolio' to capture the image. Dragging the image will instead offer to capture the link.

• First line of reports occasionally will not allow formatting
Occasionally, text placed in the first line of a report will always retain its initial formatting. To work around this, you can select the text, copy the text, then paste the text over itself. This will cause the editor to rewrite the text, correcting the formatting.

• Canceling while FTPing files using publish to the web shows error
If you cancel while FTPing a file from within Publish to Web, publishing will correctly stop FTPing the files, but you will also receive an extraneous error message. This error message will not affect anything.

• Publishing a report to website hosted on an Apache 2.0 Web Server and Encoding
Apache 2.0 explicitly reports HTML files to have charset ISO-8859-1, in the HTTP headers. Our report html files are encoded in UTF-8, which is stated in our <META> http-equiv tags. In some browsers, the HTTP header sent by Apache will override the encoding we specify in our html files. This can cause reports viewed by certain browsers to display unicode characters incorrectly and to include other unusual characters. You can workaround this by using an .htaccess file to configure the Apache server to send the correct encoding. More information on .htaccess files and configuration can be found here.

• While an image is selected in Publisher, indent buttons are disabled
You can work around this by using the Tab key to indent the selected image and using the Shift+Tab keys to unindent the selected image.
